Very handsome decorum, quiet, confortable, vey well for visit of Praha
I liked this hotel for a lot of reasons. But main reason was - I really think this hotel is the most romantic hotel in whole Prague. It is like a poem. I liked best the position, the fact that it is up on a hill, and has a view over the entire city, and neighbors the monastery with its wonderful statues and gardens as well.
Large rooms / Comfy & fitm beds. Easy access to all main sights. Brewery in restaurant in courtyard.Great views from hotel garden
Standard of room cleanliness was debatable ( carpet hoovering, cobwebs and dust apparent). Room was not cleaned at all one day. Limited breakfast choice. very upset that Booked.net did not offer hotel "benefits" to long stay and pre-paid accommodation discounts.
A lovely tranquil place to stay that was charming and met all our expectations.
The staff was outstanding-so helpful and able to answer all of our questions!! The breakfast was very good and complete-we loved sitting on the patio and enjoying the serenity with good food and drink. would definitely stay here again and recommend to others!! The only negative at all-we had a difficult time finding the entrance-on our papers we had listed: Monastery hotel, but that was not what the sign noted and we asked several people around and no one semed to know where the "hotel" was.
Good location, original design of rooms, historical atmosphere around hotel, friendly staff I have read few negative reviews and stories about people who booked room, but did not get because of mistake in booking system. We were lucky to avoid aforementioned situation. S*it happens, everyone should remember it.
Breakfast could be better, not mouth-watering at all. Tourists should be aware that building has no lift and climbing stairs with luggage can be tricky.
Friendly, clean helpful staff and charming location.
Great view from hotel to Prague, location to prague castle
This hotel is for those who prefer an individual touch and atmosphere. It offers great views, the location is excellent - it is just few minutes walking from the Castle and the Charles bridge. Convenient tram connection(No 22). Staff were attentive and helpful, breakfast tasty, in summer it would be possible to have it in the outside garden. Rooms comfortable, wi-fi, coffee and tea kettle in the rooms. Situated in an old Monastery building enclosing a charming yard with an art gallery and fantastic Strahov Library – a gem well worth seeing. I definitely loved it and will try to come again.
As it is a historic monument building, it has no lift and those staying on the top floors must be prepared to climb a few stairs.
Modern rooms, free Internet, great location, close to sights
- great location - amazing loft appartment - clean and cosy
- double bed had a gap between mattresses:-( - heating was a bit weak in severe winter
The hotel is beautifully located right next to the Strahov Monastery. The location is perfect you feel like you are actually part of the historical part. It is a short walk to the Castle, to Petrin tower, and right at the top of a beautiful path that leads down to Malostranska. There is also a tram stop nearby to access the Prague Public Transportation. Despite being so much in the middle, the hotel is remarkably quiet (apart from occasional church bells). We had a corner room (21) which was excellent with views to the city and to the side to the monastery. Decent breakfast, nothing very fancy, but we did not miss anything.
Unfortunately not all rooms are on a corner, these may have less of a view, and are perhaps slightly darker. Rooms are very clean, but the building is old, and you may see small stains and spots on walls/ceiling
view on Prague
no heating afternoon
Be careful there is not posibility to send emails with hotel wifi connection.
Excellent location, not far from the castle and close to tram 22 which takes you into town in about 15 mins. Our attic room had a fantastic view of the city at night. Good power shower but started to leak near the end of our 4 day stay. The staff especially Stephan (man with piercing blue eyes and ponytail) were helpful and friendly. Design of the whole place felt clean and tidy. We enjoyed our stay very much there.
If you stay in the upstairs rooms your double bed will actually be two single beds pushed together. Not too good for a young couple as we kept falling between the gap!
